Our Logo

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." Hebrews 12:2

The UBC logo is comprised of traditional symbols found in Medieval coat of arms, the shield and sword alluding to the armor of God (Eph. 6:11). The face of the shield depicts aspects of the Christian life crucial to the health of the whole church.

The Sword:
Symbolizes the Word of God, the very foundation of the church. Its shape also refers to the cross on which Christ died for the sins of the world.

The Anchor:
God is our anchor, keeping vessels safe under all conditions. Also symbolic of religious steadfastness.

The Cinquefoil:
The five-petaled flower represents hope and joy, the fruits that naturally spring from the heart of those who truly know the Father.

The Color Maroon:
Maroon in coat of arms traditionally means "patient in battle, and yet victorious."

The Color Silver or White:
Traditionally means "peace and sincerity."

The Raguly Line:
Containing the church verse, represents the difficulties that have been encountered along the way. But the same difficulties have made the church body strong. The twelve edges represent the pursuit of holiness.

The Ring Shape:
At the handle of the sword stands for salvation, God's gift of grace through faith. Also represents fidelity.

The Navigator's Wheel:
Implies direction, represents the four spokes of a Christian's life: Scripture, prayer, witnessing, and fellowship. These are emphasized in the activities of the church.

The Three Stars:
The Trinity. God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Embattled Line:
Containing the word 'United' traditionally symbolizes walls of a fortress or fire. The church stands as a fortified camp, ready for battle.
